The Monster, Wally and The Toilet

Meet Wally...an amazing dog that loves his Emma!

Meet Monster (AKA-Emma)...an amazing child that loves her doggie, WaWa!

Meet The Toilet ...an object that WaWa and The Monster both love!

Have you noticed your pup seems to pant a lot because they are thirsty?  At our house this happens to be Wally's situation.  Wally is our 10 year old Golden Retriever. Emma LOVES and I mean LOVES (actually a little obsessed) with Wally’s dog bowl and also she does love Wally also and Emma follows him around most of the day.  We have to keep Wally's dishes on the counter and they go up and down, up and down, up and down all day long to make sure Wally gets plenty of water and that Emma doesn't splash around in the bowl all day long.  I keep thinking she will “outgrow” this soon, so I hope.  However, at 16 months "The Monster" is still going strong with her curiosity with the water bowls.  This video is from last night as Monster dunks her ducky in the water and proceeds to suck the water out of her ducky and says "MMM, MMM".

I promise--we do give this Little Monster lots of water.  Notice the sippycup next to her at the end of the video as she plays in the dog bowl in the video.  She just loves to play in water all the time.

The other day she has found that she likes to use Wally as a chair and sit down on top of him.

Not a great photo but Emma attempting to sit on Wally right before the Bronco Game!   We did catch her Tebowing but didn't catch it on camera.  :)  ...Next time.

Also, I caught her trying to use her block crayons and attempting to color on Wally.
Emma coloring on Wally but her block crayons don't work on his coat--thank goodness!

Good thing Wally is one chill golden retriever.  Wally loves Emma as much as she loves him.  I think Wally's love for Emma might have started when she started to feed him from her highchair.  It was love at first lick of baby food.  However, Wally goes to the groomers a lot these days because Emma loves to throw food on his head and his back.  I think Wally permanently has pears and squash stuck to his ears that he can't reach to lick off.

On New Years Day Morning- 2012, Emma woke up and immediately sat in the Wally's bowl. Oh she is too cute.

On top of it, last Friday Monster was at Chris's office and her Granny, Monica gave her a pretty bright yellow Hi-Liter.  Monster loves her Hi-Liters and gets one every time she is at their office and somehow the Hi-Liter made it home with us home instead of us distracting her to sneak it out of her little hand to leave behind at the office. I pulled into the garage and I went to get Monster out of the car seat and she is asleep with it clinched in her little fingers as if it were a teddy bear.

A few hours after being at home we couldn't find Monster.  She was in one of the bathrooms and had her new pretty Hi-Liter in hand and hovering over the toilet.  She was dipping the Hi-Liter in the toilet to get water into the cap and tipped it back to her mouth to get the water and yes...drinking it.  GROSS!  Well, at lease she is being resourceful.  Now that I am a Mom, not too much phases me anymore.

Also, she loves to go into bathrooms and play and check things out while you are using the toilet.  You must make sure the bathroom door is 100%  shut at the Cox's House.  This photo below almost ended up in disaster when Chris thought he had actually shut the door all the way behind going into the bathroom. However,  Monster's little fingers opened the door and her curiosity almost got the best of her and almost got her wet... but didn't!  I have saved the best picture for last...enjoy the laugh!
I heard Chris scream, "TEIAH!, TEIAH!, TEIAH! You must come and get Emma out of the bathroom NOW because I can't stop".   For some reason couldn't stop laughing and took this picture.  HA!  :)

Quick Review of 2011 for The Cox's!

Wow!  As most of you can imagine, I am not sure where 2011 went or most of all why I never updated our blog.  It was fun and eventful year.  Emma said last year was the 2nd best year yet with her Mommy and Daddy!

Emma celebrated her first birthday on August 27th.  It was a whirlwind birthday.  I had a cousin that I grew up with unexpectedly passed away and had to run to Kansas quick for a funeral and the Allen family drove back to Denver late the night before Emma's First Birthday Bash!

In April, Emma went on my 1st plane ride.  We all went to the Maui, Hawaii for 2 weeks to celebrate Chris's 40th Birthday!  Auntie Darcie, Grandma and Grandpa Duck (nickname Emma gave to Grandma Orlena & Grandpa Skip Allen) went to Maui and Emma was a good baby on the flight!  We stayed at Chris's and my favorite resort which is Honua Kai Resort & Spa in Maui. We watched the humpback whales breech off the shore constantly and even from our lanai.  We went swimming in the pool a lot and relaxed.  Emma got to put her feet in the sand.   Emma LOVES Maui like her Mama!  It was the trip of a lifetime!

We went to Alaska in May.  Chris had to go to Anchorage for work and Emma and I tagged along on frequent flyer miles.   We stayed in Downtown Anchorage.  It was still pretty chilly up there in the middle of May and the sun was out until 12:30 am.  It was so much fun to see my Uncle Ken and Aunt Jody from Valdez.  They flew over just to see us.  Btw, Emma wasn’t such a good baby on the long flight home.   She fooled us on the Hawaii flight.  Emma didn’t feel well and happened to projectile vomit all over Chris and I repeatly.  Chris didn’t have an extra change of clothes in his carry on luggage and the passengers around us were not very happy on the red eye flight home and smelling baby vomit.  Chris and I were sure excited to get off that plane when we landed in Denver!   Emma have been to the two hardest US States to visit before she turned 1!

We had a wonderful Christmas and Christmas Season here Littleton.  Chris's Family and My Family all got together on Christmas Day.  It was fun and simple dinner. Emma was spoiled rotten by her Grandma's and Grandpa's, Auntie Darcie, Auntie Kim and Uncle Dan and Cousins.  Our Friends, Beau and Sarah stopped by late in the day on Christmas with their baby, Colby.

Happy New Year!

In November we drove to San Diego, CA (I think after the Alaska trip we were over flying).  Emma watched a lot of movies on the trip on the iPad.  We went to Sea World and she almost slept through Shamu!  Thank goodness Chris woke her up just in time to see Shamu! We also went to the amazing San Diego Zoo.  After San Diego we drove near LA on Thanksgiving where Chris did a motorcycle dirt bike race from LA to Las Vegas over 2 days and through the Mojave Desert.  Chris and all his buddies did an awesome job and I am so proud of them on their amazing adventure.  They were on dirt bikes for 24 hours in 2 days.  OUCH!  The race ended at a casino in Las Vegas.  Emma now has been to Utah, Arizona, Nevada and California!
